BIOGRAPHY

Katarina Riesing è nata a Knoxville, Tennessee, vive e lavora ad Alfred, New York. Ha conseguito la laurea in Belle Arti e Antropologia presso lo Smith College di Northampton, Massachusetts. Ha poi conseguito la Laurea Magistrale (2008) e il Master in Belle Arti (2009) presso l'Università di Madison, Winsconsin. Nel giugno 2018 ha vinto la Cité Artist Residency a Parigi, in Francia e da poco ha completato un'altra residenza al Vermont Studio Center e presso lo Iceland Textile Center in Blonduos, Islanda. Le principali mostre personali sono: Navel Gazer, Downtown Bubbler Gallery, Madison, Wisconsin (2017), Laws of Sympathy, Seligmann Center for the Arts, Chester, New York (2015), Katarina Riesing SOHO 20 Gallery, Chelsea, New York (2010). Nel 2019 il suo lavoro è stato esposto anche in mostre collettive tra cui: Can You Dream It? (Yes, I can), Kristen Lorello Gallery, NYC, Ariadne Unraveling, Asya Geisberg Gallery, NYC, In Good Company, Fosdick-Nelson Gallery, Alfred, NY e Metal, Foam and Lace, Spring Break Art Fair, UN Plaza, NYC.

Katarina Riesing was born in Knoxville, TN, and now lives and works in Alfred, New York. She recieved her BA in Fine Art and Anthropology from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts. She graduated with both MA (2008) and MFA (2009) at the University of Winsconsin, Madison. In June 2018 she won the Cite Artist Residency in Paris, France and recently completed a residency at the Vermont Studio Center and the Iceland Textile Center in Blonduos Iceland. Her selected solo exhibitions are: Navel Gazer, Downtown Bubbler Gallery, Madison, Wisconsin (2017), Laws of Sympathy, Seligmann Center for the Arts, Chester, New York (2015), Katarina Riesing SOHO 20 Gallery, video room, Chelsea, New York (2010).
